Best Practices for Chiropractic Websites

Look closely and see the difference! When we created Perfect Patients we kept these points in mind. Use them to evaluate your current website or our competitors:

  • Because computer screens offer relatively low resolution compared to paper, reading a computer screen is about 25% slower and more difficult.
  • Since reading a computer screen is more work, keep copy short. Use half the words or less than you’d normally use in print.
  • Only about 15% of people read every word on a Web page. Web pages should be designed to facilitate scanning.
  • The Web is a visual medium. Pictures trump words. Because of the inclination to scan, accompany every image with a caption.
  • Avoid bragging, exaggeration and subjective claims. Forcing visitors to separate truth from hyperbole tests their patience and reduces credibility.
  • Use short sentences. Bold key words or phrases to improve scanability and offer hyperlinks for those who want more detail.
  • Navigation within the website should be simple and intuitive. Make sure visitors don’t get lost.
  • Banish political correctness. Take a stand and have a point of view. Reveal your purpose and intent. Be real.
